Big Boy Shoes

Jack has had slip on shoes and velcro shoes, but any normal tie shoes have required adult involvement to help tie, so we've only had a few pairs of those so far.  But with Jack about to start Kindergarten, we told him it was important for him to learn to tie his own shoes.  I made a tying board for him to practice, and Grandma Stow taught him how to do the actual tying.  He's a pro now!

Hume Lake 2012

We joined 6 other families from church for an amazing week at Hume Lake. We hiked, kayaked/canoed, paddle boarded, rode bikes, swam in the lake and the pool, explored the forest, and some of us (including Jack) even tried fishing. Every night was topped off with s'mores by the fire. It was a wonderful week and we are thankful that we got to know some of the other families better. We were a large group of 30, but camp wasn't in session early in the week so we had our run of the place! Jack is already looking forward to when he is 8 and able to do some of the big kid activities, like jumping onto the Blob. He isn't as sure about the ropes course, but he has a couple of years to change his mind! The snack shop sold yummy old-fashioned milkshakes that were a big hit in the afternoons. Jack and Luke agreed on a chocolate and mint chip mixture to share :) It was a wonderful week and we feel blessed for the experiences and time with family and friends.

Tiffany's Baby Shower

We are so excited about baby Noah's pending arrival!  I held a baby shower at our home in August for Tiffany.  I was so happy to be able to do this for her and my nephew!  The theme was shabby chic, with onesies on a clothes line, an amazing cake and Onesie cookies made by Tiffany's friend, and french macarons for party favors.  I made a bunting line with pictures of Tiffany and Noah when they were babies glued to paper onesies.  It was such a fun afternoon!
